Podle dostupných informací došlo ve městě Wangen im Allgäu na jihu Německa k šokujícímu útoku na teprve čtyřletou holčičku. Incident se odehrál ve středu 3. dubna přímo v supermarketu Norma, kde byla dívka na nákupu se svou matkou.Útočníkem byl 34letý muž, který je nizozemským občanem syrského původu. Podle dosavadních zjištění neměl s napadenou holčičkou žádný předchozí vztah. Náhle k ní přistoupil a bezdůvodně ji pobodal nožem.
